Simply put, Naeem Khan is pure genius. 

The new Isabel Zapardiez 2017 collection combines the cosmopolitan look of strong, heavy fabric with light-as-a-feather silk chiffons. I loved seeing the use of feathers, both in the head pieces and also the bodice design work. The show was perfectly moody with subtle hints of royalty. 

The 2017 Marco & María fashion show at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week was a personal favorite. Muted tones of rose, sepia and ivory were paired with sheer feminine fabrics and intricate shoulder details. The models appeared almost painterly as they floated down the runway. The Isabel Sanchis 2017 collection combines rich colors and geometric origami-like shapes with nature and floral elements. Capturing the meticulously hand-embroidered details as models powerfully commanded the catwalk was a thrill.

The Galia Lahav Haute Couture 2017 collection combines high fashion with serenity. Here are some of my favorites, shot at the 2016 Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week for Wedding Sparrow. The show hinted at nature and provided an inspiring visual of earth tones and vintage lace.

While in Barcelona for the Bridal Fashion Week 2016 for Wedding Sparrow, wedding planner extraordinaire Kerrin Wiesener (of Hochzeitskonzept), art connoisseur Lauren J. Brown and I had the honor of staying at Grand Hotel Central. The three of us spent an afternoon enjoying the rooftop view, playing in couture gowns and veils by Saint Isabel Bridal and Melinda Rose Design. Grand Hotel Central is also a quick walk to the Picasso Museum in Barcelona (a must if you are in town), so we couldn’t help but combine Picasso’s striped shirt with wedding couture. Why not? The perfect location and amenities of this boutique hotel have me daydreaming of more Barcelona adventures with my muses … hopefully soon. 

Ginny Au creates a moody, achievable look with soft linens, deep-toned floral and muted gold accents. 

Low floral by Bows and Arrows sprawls beautifully across the table. This soft garden-style floral design is uniquely paired with rich, dark pink and purple jewel tones, creating just the right tempered mood. Perfect for reception photos, the Bows and Arrows photography backdrop is arched with greenery to frame the subject. Whether you seek a moody or simple look for your wedding reception, there are several take-away ideas here for you!
